I have been teaching since the age of 16, when I discovered that I had a way of explaining things clearly so that my students could understand me. I put myself through Auckland University by doing private tutoring in Maths and English, gaining B.A. in Maths and Economics, and an M.Phil with honours in Operations Research, which is about applying Mathematics to solving business problems such as Queuing Theory, Supply Chains and profit maximisation. Today we would call it an MBA, but they didn't have such a degree at that time. I particularly enjoy working with senior students, especially the Cambridge ones.

I have a team of tutors who teach the younger students. All of these tutors are my past students whom I have hand-picked for their knowledge, intelligence and ability to communicate well. I have recently begun to write text books - the first of which is on calculus and is on sale now. It is the result of many years of teaching calculus and watching the reactions of students to various approaches and teaching styles. My current students have been able to work through it mostly unaided, so I am doing myself out of a job!
